BASIC WOMEN’S RETOUCH
The basic process of retouching women requires a bit more finessing and can be done by following the same basic steps as retouching men. Women defi- nitely require a little more work when it comes to eve- ning out the skin. Below are the steps that differ from retouching men. Keep these extra nuances in mind when retouching women.
Step Two: In addition to removing blemishes, also look to see if there are any flyaway hairs that can easily be worked out using the Clone Stamp tool with a high Opacity, the Healing Brush, or the Patch tool. Only work the hairs that are easily fixable. It doesn’t have to be perfect by any means. If it isn’t an easy fix and starts to get blurry, click Command-Z (PC: Ctrl-Z) to quickly undo and try again.
Steps Eight and Nine: When blending the skin tone while working in frequency separation, pay extra atten- tion to the blending of the makeup as well as the neck area. The smoother the transition in tones, the better.
These areas will most likely require the combination of the Healing Brush, Patch tool, Brush, and Clone Stamp.
