Step Eight: Before Step Eight: After
Step Eight: Duplicate the Color layer and use either the Clone Stamp tool (S) or the Brush tool (B) set to a very low Opacity (I used 5% Opacity and 100% Flow in the Options Bar). You’ll want to set the blend Mode to Color in the Options Bar for both tools, as well. (Note: I also use blend modes of Normal, Lighten, and Darken if I need a slightly more aggressive approach.) Frequently sample the skin tones by Option-clicking (PC: Alt-clicking) the skin of the surrounding areas and begin blending in the skin. (If you’re using the Clone Stamp, Option-clicking [PC: Alt-clicking] will set the clone source; if you’re using the Brush tool, Option-clicking [PC: Alt-clicking] will set the Foreground color to the color on which you click.) By working in the duplicated layer, you can go back and lower the Opacity if you feel that it’s too much. Once this is satisfactory, merge the layer down by going to Layer>Merge Down.
Step Nine: Still using either the Brush tool or Clone Stamp tool set to a low Opacity with the blend Mode set to Color, continue working out the skin tone by frequently sampling the surrounding areas until you have the desired result.
